The 2020 Electric Power Industry International Cooperation Conference successfully held

The 2020 Electric Power Industry International Cooperation Conference, the Annual Conference of China Power International Cooperation Union and the Annual Conference of Electric Power Industry Office of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, was held on September 10-12th in Xining City, Qinghai Province. The meeting was hosted by China Electricity Council and co-organized by the State Power Investment Co., Ltd.

Yang Kun, the Executive President, said in his speech that the COVID-19 and the complex and changeable international situation have brought unprecedented challenges to the international cooperation of the electric power industry. The electric power industry must accelerate the formation of a domestic large cycle as the main body, the domestic and international dual circulation promoting each other. He put forward three suggestions: first, enhance the overall situation awareness in foreign exchanges and conform to the diplomatic strategy of the country; second,  uphold the collaborative development to enhance the overall international competitiveness of the industry; third, adhere to an open attitude and firm determination and confidence in "Going Global". Yang Kun expressed his gratitude to the CEC members for their long-term participation in and support for the work of China Electricity Council.

The National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and other government departments sent personnel to attend the meeting.

Shen Weichun, Deputy Secretary General of the China Electricity Council, gave a working report on international cooperation of the power industry at the meeting. The report reviewed the overall situation of international cooperation of the power industry and power enterprises in 2019 and the first half of 2020, and introduced in detail that CEC has given full play to the advantages of its industry platform to “Going Global” in service industry enterprises, and help power enterprises to build and promote the “Belt and Road” initiative. The report looks forward to the future work of CEC in the fields of international information, international standards, international talent training, corporate overseas compliance operations, international commercial credit, financing and legal service, conferences and exhibitions, and expert think tanks.

The conference also organized business exchanges and seminars on international cooperation between electric power enterprises, a forum on international power capacity cooperation and other forums. More than 150 representatives attended the meeting.
