CEC calls on North East Asia power cooperation

On March 30, Dr. Yang Kun, Executive President of China Electricity Council (CEC) delivered a speech on the summary session of the 2016 Conference on Global Energy Interconnection and call for in-depth power cooperation of North East Asia.

According to Dr. Yang, more and more stakeholders with energy industry had reached consensus that the idea of Global Energy Interconnection, especially the regional interconnected power grid, will benefit the development of renewable energy on a wider scale thus to optimize the energy resources deployment among different countries. The initiative will create new momentum to the economic growth of the interconnected regions and blaze a new way to address global challenge of climate change.

As one of the active participants, China Electricity Council propose to establish The Northeast Asia Regional Power Interconnection and Cooperation Forum to facilitate the communication on the power interconnection and cooperation in the region of Northeast Asia. CEC will mull over the mechanism of the forum and invite related parties to the founding meeting of the forum which is expected to be held in October.
