Constructed by Energy China, the photovoltaic power project for the welcome corridor of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 has been generating power since November 2017. With a total installed capacity of 500 MW, it has three 220 kV substations, providing 635 million kWh of electricity annually.
The Beijing-Tibet Expressway passes through the project. Taking the advantage of its location and the surrounding resources, the project promotes photovoltaic agriculture and photovoltaic forestry based on the market, setting a win-win model between the Olympic Games and the development in urban and rural areas.
