2019 grid-connected Solar PV power operational statistics

According to industry statistics, nation-wide newly installed capacity of solar PV in 2019 was 30.11 GW, a year-on-year decrease of 31.6%. Of this, new installations of utility-scale PV systems was 17.91 GW, a year-on-year decrease of 22.9%; new installations of distributed PV systems were 12.2 GW, a year-on-year increase of 41.3%. The cumulative installed capacity of PV power generation reached 204.3 GW, a year-on-year increase of 17.3%. Of this, cumulative capacity of utility-scale PV systems reached 141.67 GW, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%; cumulative capacity of distributed PV systems reached 62.63 GW, an increase of 24.2% year-on-year.

Total PV power generation reached 224.3 TWh in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 26.3%. The average productivity of PV reached 1169 full-load hours, a year-on-year increase of 54 hours.Nationwide curtailment of PV fell to 2%, a year-on-year decrease of 1 percentage point, with total curtailment of PV of 4.6 TWh.
