390MW offshore wind put in operation in China
In August 2014, China wind power development report 2014 was released in Shanghai. According to the report, by the end of 2013, China's offshore wind power resource reserves and distribution have been ascertained; and offshore wind power construction officially started. Wind power capacity reached around 390MW, the top five of the world. Promoting the construction of offshore wind can not only ensure our energy security, but also satisfy sustainable supply of energy. It is the inevitable requirement of promoting energy conservation and emissions reduction.
All countries in the world see offshore wind as an important direction of renewable energy development and utilization. Offshore wind power resource in China’s eastern coastal areas is rich and is with good construction conditions. Promoting the building of offshore wind power in the region can ease the tight local conventional energy supply, drive the development of marine economy and the equipment manufacturing industry, while improve the regional ecological environment.
