On April 10, Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Vietnam visited Yunnan Power Grid Company of CSG. He was briefed on the company’s daily operation and cooperation with the Vietnamese side. Bui Quang Vinh, Member of the Central Committee of Vietnamese Communist Party and Minister of Planning and Investment, Vu Huy Hoang, Member of the Central Committee of Vietnamese Communist Party and Minister of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Van Vinh, Member of the Central Committee of Vietnamese Communist Party and Party Chief of Lao Cai Province, Liu Huiyan, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, and Wang Jiuling, Vice President of CSG were in company with Mr. Pham.
During the meeting, Mr. Pham listened to briefings on CSG and China-Vietnam electric power cooperation. He commented that the Vietnamese side had always been active in enhancing China-Vietnam cooperation and CSG had done an excellent job in the past decade in electricity transmission, electric infrastructure construction and investment. He remarked that CSG’s investment in the Vinh Tan Thermal Power Plant project would greatly boost the economy in southern Vietnam and the Vietnamese side would urge relevant departments to issue a Legal Opinion in accordance with the legal process and facilitate the project together with CSG.
Vice President Wang Jiuling commented that thanks to the attention and support of the leadership of both countries, the electric power cooperation was developing healthily and steadily towards a wider range and deeper level. He also pointed out that CSG had a long history of cooperation with Vietnam and CSG’s connectivity with power grids in Vietnam was a great support for the economic development of northern Vietnam in the past decade. Given CSG’s dedication to implementing the “One Belt and One Road” initiative and enhancing connectivity of power grids, the Vice President was fully confident that the cooperation between China and Vietnam electric power enterprises would yield fruitful achievements.
Chairman Duong Quang Thanh of EVN, heads of Yunnan Power Grid Company, CSG International and CSG Yunnan International also attended the activities.
