Second Lancang-Mekong Summit for Communication and Cooperation Between Chinese Electric Power Enterprises Held in Yunnan

Kunming, Yunnan - On September 28 and 29, the Second Lancang-Mekong Summit for Communication and Cooperation Between Chinese Electric Power Enterprises was hosted here by China Southern Power Grid.

Representatives from 25 enterprises and institutes attended this important summit, including supervisory authorities of energy, Chinese enterprises and financial agencies.

Zhang Wenfeng, Vice President of China Southern Power Grid, attended the conference and delivered the keynote welcome address. He expressed his best wishes to, “deepen the cooperation between and share information with the attending enterprises and financial agencies to create a win-win situation for all parties.”

Mr. Zhang said that, “as an executive unit of the China side in the Greater Mekong Subregion’s electricity cooperation, China Southern Power Grid actively performs its duty under the directions of the National Energy Administration. China Southern Power Grid sets up platforms for communication and cooperation, including the important Lancang-Mekong Summit for Electric Power Enterprises and Lancang-Mekong Summit for Communication and Cooperation Between Chinese Electric Power Enterprises, which were attended by many enterprises and institutes.”

He added that, “together with Chinese enterprises and financial agencies, China Southern Power Grid will serve for the ‘blueprint’ for nations located along the Lancang-Mekong River by bringing the advantages of all parties into play. “

Mr. Zhang explained that in the future, “CSG will work to reinforce the cooperation between enterprises and the collaborations between enterprises and financial institutions. By setting up regular communication platforms on electric cooperation between Chinese enterprises and financial agencies, China Southern Power Grid is pledged to promote cooperation in areas including the construction of power infrastructure, the development of new power projects, the interconnectivity of power grids and the trade of electricity, contributing to the pandemic prevention and economic recovery in these countries.”
