Huaneng International Took the Lead in Passing the Internal Control Audit under SOX 404

On April 3, 2007, Huaneng International Power Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Huaneng Group that is listed in USA, passed with zero defect the internal control audit of its financial report conducted by PWC, becoming the first to pass SOX404 in the companies controlled by central enterprises and listed in USA.

Huaneng International officially started the all-round improvement of its internal control in February 2003 as required by SOX404 by drawing up an overall plan and setting a short-term goal: to obtain the audit report on internal control issued by an external auditor with no reservation. The long-term goal is to continuously enhance its development capability, competition capability and risk-resisting capability through the all-round improvement of internal control to attain its strategic target.
