China Huaneng Group Receives Annual Power Company Award

China Huaneng Group was conferred the Annual Power Company award at the 14th Annual Power & Electricity World Asia held in Singapore from March 21 to March 25.

The award winners are voted by senior executives of Asian power enterprises according to achievements of power companies in terms of business planning, business expansion, finance and social contribution. China Huaneng Group was given the award for its strong influence, sound business performance, rapid development and fulfillment of corporate social responsibilities. The conference gave out ten awards including Annual Power Company Award, Most Socially Responsible Company Award, and Clean Energy Innovation Award, etc.

The 14th Annual Power and Electricity World Asia, hosted by London-based international exhibition and conference company Terrapinn, is an important platform for power companies in Asia to seek for cooperative partners and investment opportunities. More than 500 representatives from 20 countries attended the conference.

At the conference, Huaneng representatives introduced the efforts and achievements of China Huaneng Group in clean energy development. They also held meeting with Temasek Holdings, Lloyd's Register and companies from Malaysia and United Arab Emirates, and the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, introducing Huaneng's wind power and nuclear power development, and explored cooperation possibility in the energy sector.

China Huaneng Group also participated in the exhibition held over the same period with the conference, demonstrating Huaneng’s green development achievements and the High Temperature Gas-cooled reactor technology. Affected by Japan's nuclear leakage, representatives at the conference showed great concern about nuclear power plant security and communicated with Huaneng representatives on High Temperature Gas-cooled reactor technology, and gained general understanding about the production principles and inherent security of the technology.
