Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex Phase Ι Project Completed

On February 27th, 2013, the Tuas Power Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex Phase Ι Project in Singapore was officially completed. The project represents another substantial step forward for China Huaneng Group in implementing its “Go Global” strategy.

Huang Yongda, Secretary of Huaneng Committee, Huang Long, Vice President of China Huaneng Group, and Lim Hng Kiang, Minister of Trade and Industry Singapore, attended the ceremony.

Huang Yongda expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Singaporean government, the project constructor, clients, and friends from all walks of life that have provided consistent and vigorous support for the project. He said, Huaneng Group acquired Tuas Power through international bidding and thus entered the Singapore power generation market. During the past few years, Huaneng has been placing great emphasis on the integrated development of both the Company (Tuas Power) and local economy, the joint growth of the Company and the workforce, and environmental protection during the process of energy production, supplying stable, reliable and environmentally-friendly electricity for Singapore’s social and economic development. Huaneng will continue its full support for Tuas Power, and ensure that this project be built as an exemplary showcase for Sino-Singapore economic cooperation, and ensure that the subsequent project construction proceed as scheduled. Huaneng will continuously deepen its cooperation with the Singaporean government and seek new investment opportunities in Singapore.

Minister Lim Hng Kiang extended his sincere congratulations to the completion of the project. He said, it’s a pleasure to have Huaneng Group investing on Jurong Island, and providing more competitive products and services of water, steam and electricity for many world-known chemical companies on Jurong Island. The operation of this Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex will further consolidate the confidence of more companies to invest on Jurong Island, and to create a new chapter for its development legend. The completion of this project is a new symbol of Sino-Singapore economic cooperation and reflects the close partnership between Huaneng Group and the Singaporean government. Singapore is willing to further deepen this partnership in the future.

Before the ceremony, Huang Yongda and Huang Long met with Minister Lim Hng Kiang. Both parties exchange opinions on how to further strengthen mutual cooperation.

The Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex Phase Ι Project took about three years for construction, and includes one 450tons/hour CFB boiler with matching steam turbine generator, two 200tons/hour dual-fuels backup boilers, and other supporting facilities like wharf, office buildings and pipe networks etc. After operation, the project will be able to supply 100MW of electricity and 300tons/hour of steam.
