Huadian Guyuan 8000MW included in Zhangjiakou wind power base layout

National Energy Administration recently approved Zhangjiakou (a prefectural-level city in northwestern Hebei province) wind power base third-phase development layout, including Huadian Guyuan Company’s six projects totaling 800MW. 

Located in Zhangjiakou, Guyuan Wind Power Company handles development, construction and operation of Huadian’s new energy projects such as wind and solar in Northern China. The company currently has total installed capacity of 8000MW, including six wind farms and four PV stations. 

Zhangjiakou is abundant in wind resource. National Development and Reform Commission planned the first 1000MW-level wind power base in Zhangjiakou in 2007, the second one in 2009 and the recent third one totaling 6830MW. The Guyuan subsidiary, affiliated to China Huadian, competed with 40 enterprises’ 60 projects and won 8000MW to develop, 11,7% of the total.
