China’s First Super Large Flow Emulsion Pump Station Operates Smoothly at Shangwan Coal Mine

As of July 13, the first domestic 1350 L/min super large flow emulsion pump station developed by Shendong Coal Group under China Energy had been operating well for a full year since it was put into test run at Shangwan Coal Mine. The pump station creates a flow record at home and abroad, providing a reliable power source for the working face with a mining height of 8.8 meters and above and marking a new leap forward of China in the technology of extra-thick coal seam mining.

The emulsion pumping station took the lead in adopting a super-large energy storage station, which is composed of 12 sets of 60-liter accumulators, with a total capacity of 720 liters, three times more than that of a traditional energy storage station. This design can effectively alleviate the problem of slow response of instantaneous large amount of liquid used in the working face. The creative employment of an ultra-large flow electromagnetic unloading valve with a rated flow reaching 1350 L/min allows for more stable loading and unloading at the super large flow pump station, reduced pipeline vibration and prolonged service life.

The pump station is the first to be equipped with an accurate proportion and online monitoring system for emulsion concentration as well as an intelligent protection system for emulsion pump, which can monitor the oil temperature and oil level of the crankcase, oil pressure and flow rate of the lubrication system, emulsion concentration, temperature and liquid level, system pressure, pipe burst, cooling water switch on/off, and opening and closing of pipeline valves, so as to achieve intelligent interaction and real-time monitoring at the station. The station is also equipped with two lubrication systems, which are parallel yet independent and complementary of each other, capable of monitoring the oil pressure and flow of lubricating oil reaching the slider and the crankshaft, making the lubrication system more reliable.
