China Shenhua Honored with CDP 2020 Excellent Performance Award on Water Security

CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project) recently released its 2020 China list of excellent management companies, and China Shenhua Energy Company Limited was honored with an Excellent Performance Award on Water Security.

China Shenhua attaches great importance to water management. It has clarified the responsibilities of the Board of Directors on water security issues, strengthened identification of risks and opportunities on water security issues, and endeavored to explore and promote best practices of its units in water security management. In the 2020 CDP Water Questionnaire, the company was among the only four Chinese management companies to be rated with a score of B, marking a significant improvement.

CDP is a not-for-profit charity that runs a global disclosure system for investors, companies, and cities to measure and manage environmental impacts. To meet the needs of financial market and companies, it provides questionnaires on three topics, namely climate change, water security and forestry, and responding companies are rated with a score in one of eight levels from A to D. As a provider of key data and ratings in the field of environmental governance, CDP provides data support for the annual ESG ratings of key indices such as the MSCI, FTSE Russel, and Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI).
