China Energy Holds Press Conference on the Completion of Major Work in the First Half of 2021

China Energy held a press conference on the completion of its major work in the first half of 2021 on July 29, at which the spokesperson of the corporation released information about the production, operation, and key tasks that China Energy accomplished in the first six months this year.

In the first half of 2021, China Energy produced 280 million tons of coal, generated electricity of 521.4 billion kWh, completed railway transport volume of 240 million tons, and produced 14.4 million tons of chemicals (with intermediate goods as the mainstay), achieving business revenues of 312.5 billion yuan.

Since the beginning of this year, China Energy has taken on the responsibility to stabilize energy prices. Guided by strategic plans, it has contributed to achieving China’s goal of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. It has strengthened scientific and technological innovation to increase efficiency. In the first six months of 2021, the corporation obtained 338 invention patents, and certified three corporation-level R&D platforms and launched construction of another six. China Energy has also accelerated clean development of fossil energy, strengthened coal-fired power generation reform to save energy, advanced integrated energy exploration and utilization, and pushed forward large-scale development of clean energy. In the first half of 2021, it approved the production of new energy totaling 6.64 GW. In addition, it has taken an active part in hydrogen energy and power storage industries, and published the White Paper on China’s Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Battery Industries 2020. China Energy has organized special supervisions and inspections to ensure smooth advance in production safety and environment protection. It has also taken concrete actions to fulfill its pledge to “bring tangible benefits to the people.” On July 22, China Energy donated 20 million yuan to Henan to support the province in fighting the disaster caused by rainstorms.
