On April 29, two generating units and DCS for a 2×660MW coal-fired power plant in Thar, Pakistan, built by a subsidiary of Guodian Technology & Environment Group Corporation Limited under China Energy, passed the acceptance test.

The coal-fired power plant, located in the southern part of the Thar coalfield in southeastern Sindh Province, Pakistan, is a key project of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. After completion, the power plant is expected to effectively alleviate the local power shortage and provide strong impetus to the regional economic development, which is of great significance to further strengthening the strategic partnership between China and Pakistan and building a community of shared future between the two countries.
