China Energy Holds Q1 2020 Business Analysis Meeting

On April 9, China Energy Investment Corporation held a business analysis meeting, analyzing the production and operation situation in the first quarter of the year and discussing and arranging key work for the second quarter. Chairman Wang Xiangxi attended and addressed the meeting, which was presided over by CEO Liu Guoyue. Leader of the National Audit Office was present at the meeting.

In the first quarter of this year, according to Wang Xiangxi, China Energy worked to promote both epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development in a holistic manner, seeing smooth and orderly progress in epidemic control, steady and efficient energy supply, and a stable and healthy momentum of development. In the face of the current complex situation, it is important to adhere to the principle of stability while seeking progress and improvements, with an aim to minimize the impact of adverse factors and achieve all targets set for the year, Wang noted.

Wang Xiangxi stressed that to ensure the accomplishment of the annual target tasks, in the second quarter efforts should be made to advance epidemic control, promote steady growth, implement restructuring, deepen reform, ensure security, and prevent risks, aiming to achieve more than half of the annual tasks by the end of June. He required adherence of strict epidemic prevention and control and establishment of a working mechanism that is compatible with the normalization of epidemic control. He also called on efforts to guarantee production to expand operation achievements, cultivate new driving force for development and new growth points while increasing effective investment, overcome difficulties to deepen the reform on various fronts, and make sure every production process is safe and eco-friendly.

Liu Guoyue made specific requests on the implementation of the decisions of the meeting. First, work and production should be resumed in a safe and orderly manner. Second, focus should be placed on improving quality and efficiency. Third, poverty alleviation tasks must be accomplished. Fourth, headquarters institutional reforms should be promoted and modernization of corporate governance of subsidiaries should be advanced. Liu stressed the goal of fulfilling half of the annual targets by the end of the second quarter so as to lay a solid foundation for the completion of all the annual target tasks.
