Huanghua Port Takes the Lead in China’s 5G Smart Loading

On January 5, with the “Hua Yuan 20” ship leaving the port, No.12 loader of Huanghua Port under China Energy took 20 hours to load 53,868 tons of coal with 5G technology for the first time in China, which marked the official launch of 5G smart loading.

Huanghua Port, among the second batch of enterprises designated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for 10 typical application scenes and five key industrial practice of “5G Plus Industrial Internet”, has successfully built the core system of 5G communication and 15 base stations, realizing full coverage of the area’s 5G private network signals. Through application research and promotion of the 5G smart loading system, the 5G intelligent shipping operation that features efficient transmission of video network and control network data has been completed for the first time in domestic coal ports, which brought into play 5G communications’ characteristics of large bandwidth and low delay and transmitted business data back to the intranet via the 5G network slicing technology.

The successful application of the 5G technology in the intelligent loading operation has laid a solid foundation for Huanghua Port to delve deeper in application research of 5G communication at higher level, establish a set of advanced technologies featuring efficient use, safety and controllability, and build a high-quality 5G private network that can meet the future business needs and adapt to technological evolution trends.
