Baihetan hydropower station, owned by China Three Gorges Corp. (CTG), completed the final batch of concrete pouring for the plunge pool on April 7, marking the completion of construction of the world's largest inverted-arch plunge pool.
The completion of the pool, which kicked off 22 months ago, makes Baihetan project ready for water inflow.
The plunge pool is an important flood-relief facility for the dam. The construction team is well on track with all related preparatory work for plunge pool water inflow, which is scheduled for this year.
