The Changlongshan pumped storage hydropower station, built and owned by China Three Gorges Corp (CTG), mounted its first power unit’s stator seat on March 25.
It initiated assembly of the stator, the stationary part of a rotary system found in power generation motors, marking the beginning of electromechanical equipment installation at the station.
The stator is a key component of both the pumped storage power unit and power generation motor. The power generation motor’s stator weighs about 400 tons, with a diameter of about 8.2 meters and overall height of about 5.5 meters.
