On December 6, the 50 MW wind power project of China Three Gorges New Energy Corporation (CTGNE) in Ningxia Tongxin county was approved. Up to the present, a total of 150 MW wind power projects have been approved in Ningxia region this year. The Tongxin project is located in Jijia town, Tongxin county, Wuzhong city, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. On October 18 this year, the Tongxin project was included in the 2017 development plan of Ningxia wind power base. The installed capacity of this project is 50 MW. After the project is put into operation, it is estimated that the annual power generating capacity will be around 110 million kwh, saving about 39,000 tons of standard coal and reducing about 98,000 tons of carbon dioxide emission every year. It will play a significant role to the adjustment of local energy mix and sustainable devel-opment of local economy.
