Gezhouba power plant crosses 600b kWh power generation mark

Gezhouba power plant, owned by CTG, announced that it has generated 600 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) electricity since its commission as of 11:48 a.m. September 20.

Gezhouba power plant is the world's largest run-of-river hydropower plant with low hydraulic head and large flow. Over the past 40 years since it commissioned the first power unit, its green electricity has empowered the social and economic development of the area in the grid and delivered enormous benefits in energy saving and emission reduction.

The  600 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) electricity is equivalent to a reduction of 182.94 million tons of standard coal and cutting emissions of 499.2 million tons of carbon dioxide, contributing to the goal of reaching emission peak and carbon neutrality.
