[HPR1000 news] Concrete poured for Fangchenggang NPP Unit 3 steam turbine raft foundation

Concrete pouring for the raft foundation for the steam turbine of Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Unit 3 was completed on Nov 12.

The concrete pouring was completed hierarchically in about 40 hours by use of equipment from four directions -- north, south, east and west.

In order to ensure the pouring was a success, staff members of the project had been taking 24/7 shifts to monitor the whole process since the start of the pouring at 19:18 on Nov 10.

The raft foundation is located on a conventional island of Fangchenggang NPP, a Hualong One (HPR1000) demonstration project of China General Nuclear Power Corporation in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

The success can be attributed to the mature cooperation between all parties involved, including engineers, installers and contractors.
