Shenhua Guoneng Launches First National-Level Coal Quality Laboratory with CNAS and CMA Certifications

On June 5, the Coal Quality Laboratory for Sandaogou Coal Mine of Shenhua Guoneng Group under China Energy obtained the “China Inspection Body and Laboratory Mandatory Approval (CMA),” which marks that the company has launched the first coal quality laboratory with certification of both CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment) and CMA, and that it is equipped with the coal quality testing ability with international and national recognition and possesses the coal testing ability at a domestically advanced level.

The Coal Quality Laboratory for Sandaogou Coal Mine was established in March 2021, with an accumulated investment of 8.69 million yuan. It now has six lab technicians, all of whom have obtained the qualification certificates for coal sampling, sample preparation and testing. The laboratory is equipped with 48 sets of equipment for sampling, sample preparation and testing, including joint sample preparation machines, fully automatic industrial analyzers, hydrocarbon analyzer, electrothermal constant-temperature blast drying oven and other instruments. As required by the national industry standards and related requirements of the lab’s superior companies, the staff need to collect, prepare, test and analyze coal samples to form a test report, which includes total moisture, internal moisture, sulfur, volatile matters, ashes, hydrocarbon and calorific value, etc. They also need to take timely measures and make relevant plans according to the test results of coal quality, which has guiding significance for further enhancing coal quality and improving coal calorific value.
