China Energy Zhejiang Branch Completes Its First VR Intelligent Safety Training Base

On June 15, China Energy Zhejiang Branch’s first VR intelligent safety training base welcomed its 1000th trainee of this year’s Safety Month. The intelligent base provides immersive training experience and helps strengthen construction workers’ awareness of safety and compliance of relevant regulations, said a trainee.

Trainees use VR devices to experience the safety scenario.

The VR intelligent safety training base, built from an abandoned warehouse of Ninghai Power Plant, covers an area of 681 square meters and consists of seven functional zones: VI display zone, accidents exhibition zone, multimedia experiencing zone, VR experiencing zone, physical experiencing zone, safety training room, and first aid experiencing zone. It provides multi-scenario interactive training by using multimedia technologies. With the help of VR devices, trainees are able to practice operations and take examinations in different scenarios. Once their operations are identified as non-standard, the system will simulate corresponding accident effects, so that trainees can experience the thrills like in a real accident. This experience may urge them to pay closer attention to safety in workplace.
