On October 14, the Development and Reform Commission of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, unveiled the list of the second batch of enterprises winning the bids for wind and solar power projects in the city during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). Of them, the Gansu branch of China Longyuan Power Group Co., Ltd. (“Longyuan Power” for short), a subsidiary of CHN Energy, won the 100MW wind power project in Yongdeng County.
The project is located in Yongdeng County of Lanzhou City, capital of Gansu Province. Considering that the area is in the province’s main power consumption center and boasts a grid with strong absorptive capacity, it is suitable to develop wind power projects. With a planned capacity of 100MW, the project is designed to install 19 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.27MW, and build a 110KV booster station as well as 15MW and 60MW energy storage facilities. When completed, the project will generate 218.53 million kWh of electricity per year, with annual use hours of 2,182. It is estimated that it will save 211,100 tons of standard coal and reduce fume emissions by 2,850 tons, nitrogen dioxide emissions by 2,449 tons, and carbon dioxide emissions by 630,000 tons each year, thus effectively relieving air pollution.
